Privacy and Cookies

Unseen Romania is an independent publication at unseenromania.com. This policy explains how data is used to provide the guide and answer enquiries.
Enquiries
The contact form sends your email address and message. You can also provide a name and subject. These are used to handle your enquiry. The hosting service processes the form and checks for spam. A short-lived IP record helps limit spam.
Contact messages may stay in the delivery queue for up to 90 days. Spam-limit records expire within 25 hours. These limits apply to queue and spam records. They do not apply to delivered correspondence.
Hosting and local search
Cloudflare hosts the site and processes contact messages. Page requests include the network and request data needed to serve and protect the site. Search uses the site's own downloaded index. Fonts and guide photos are served with the site. They do not load from external font or photo services.
Browser storage and measurement
The site can keep campaign labels from the address bar. They use session storage for the current tab. Outbound-link measurement records a marked commercial link and the page where it was clicked. This storage is separate from an email subscription.
Planner and travel emails
The planner form collects your email address. We record the page you used, the consent wording and time, your country and the guide topic. Our email delivery processor, Sequenzy, stores this information, sends the planner link and travel emails, and records delivery and link clicks. Clicks help us choose which regional guides to send. You can unsubscribe through any email. We retain suppression records to honour opt-outs.
The hosting service checks sign-ups for spam and keeps a hash of the address for up to 30 days to avoid repeating requests.
No Google Analytics or Cloudflare Web Analytics tracker is configured. The site does not load a merchant advertising pixel.
Privacy enquiries
Use contact to ask about enquiry data. You can request access, correction or deletion. Include enough detail to identify the correspondence. Data may need to be kept to resolve an enquiry or meet a legal obligation. External booking providers use their own privacy policies when you visit or book with them.
